Community Clean-Up Day

Based on resident feedback, the board members discussed the possibility of a neighborhood clean-up day.   We are seeking the following to make this a successful activity:

1)  a resident to serve as the coordinator for the project and help the board with the planning details

2)  resident participation to help form the teams for the various areas of the LCHA common areas

To show our appreciation for the volunteers, the board is considering a cookout/picnic after the clean-up.  Additionally, refreshments will be provided through the clean-up time.

Please comment for send the board a message to indicate your interest in this event.

Thank you.

Pros & Cons – General Discussion

  • YMCA offers more programs and are very diverse in their offerings, as compared to what the City of Delaware can provide.  The Parks & Rec Department typically ends up at the bottom of the funding priority list after all of the city’s other departments are covered.  The YMCA and provide the planning & programs that the city cannot.
  • Contract will have clauses to establish satisfaction points to allow both the YMCA and the City of Delaware to determine whether they wish to continue the relationship.  Annual review process?  Quarterly review?
